Tomato Rasam without lentils

Tomato Rasam is tomato shorba made in south Indian style. Mainly it is enjoyed with Idli and Rice. If cooked with less amount of oil, this recipe can be a weight loss diet friendly recipe. 



Ingredients:

➤ Ulad dal - 1 tsp
➤ Curry leaves - 2-3 
➤ Red chillies - 1
➤ Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
➤ Minced garlic - 2-3 cloves
➤ Chopped onions - 1
➤ Chopped tomatoes - 2-3
➤ Tamarind pulp / water - 1 cup (please ignore spelling mistake in video :D )
➤ Rasam powder - 2 tsp
➤ Regular masalas
➤ Oil

Method:

➤ Heat some oil and add ulad dal & mustard seeds.
➤ Once they crackle, add curry leaves and kashmiri red chilly.
➤ Add minced garlic and onions.
➤ Once onions get sauteed, add tomatoes and salt.
➤ Once tomatoes turn mushy, add turmeric powder and red chilly powder.
➤ Add tamarind pulp/water and cover the vessel. Let it simmer for about 8 minutes.
➤ Add 2 glasses of water and mix well. Add Rasam Powder.
➤ Let it simmer for another 4-5 minutes.

Serving Suggestions:

➤ Serve it with rice and Ghee.
