Potatoes are king of Indian kitchens. We have them almost every day! Be it a normal day or on occasional fasting! Potatoes go well with anything and can be cooked anyhow. Here's a recipe which is cheesy, baked and made using potatoes! So here's the quick and no fuss recipe for hasselback potatoes.
Ingredients:
- 4 potatoes (should be large and elongated)
- 1 cup melted butter
- 3 tsp oregano/mix dried herbs
- 2 tsp salt
- 6 minced garlic cloves (or garlic powder)
- 6-7 cheese slices
Method:
- Wash the potatoes.
- With a sharp knife, put deep cuts in the potato. Note that you do not have to slice it. just put deep cuts at equal intervals. Thickness of slice should be not more than 4-5 mm. Microwave these potatoes for 3 minutes.
- Put oven for pre-heating at 180℃.
- In a cup of melted butter, add salt, garlic and oregano and give it a mix.
- Apply the mixture to potatoes, apply on each of the slits to get maximum flavour.
- Put pieces of cheese slice in each slit. Apply remaining mixture of butter above it.
- Put them in a baking tray and bake it at 180℃ for 30 minutes.
Serving suggestions: No suggestions needed, just grab a knife and folk to avoid your fingers from burning.
