Brown rice? Those chewy unpolished grains our dietician asks us to have once a day with curd or mix veg. curries. Have you ever tried a recipe using these wonderful healthy grains? Follow the below given steps and prepare this protein packed green tawa pulao.
Key Utensils used: Non stick skillet (Tawa)
Ingredients:
- 1 Bowl cooked brown rice
- 1 cup finely chopped onions
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp chilly paste
- 1 cup green pepper (capsicum) chopped
- 1 cup blanched pigeon pea (हरी तुर / લીલી તુવેર )
- 1 tbsp Mint powder or Mint paste (ફુદીના નો પાવડર અથવા ચટણી /पुदीने का पाउडर या चटनी )
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- Namak swadanusar
- 1 tbsp cumin-coriander powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- Coriander leaves for garnishing.
Method:
- Put oil on a hot tawa. Sprinkle cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add finely chopped onions and sauté for a minute.
- Add ginger, garlic and chilly paste and again sauté till mixture onions turn brown (or untill you start coughing due to chilly sautéing).
- Add chopped capsicum and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add blanched pigeon peas and sprinkle #namakswadanusar and mix well
- Add cooked brown rice to this.
- Sprinkle mint powder, cumin-coriander powder and turmeric powder.
- Sauté on high flame for 3 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
