Baked Penne with Pineapple

Yes, "Baked dish" is always the first thing that pops up in our mind. The recipe provided below is one of the most loved Italian dishes we order at multi cuisine restaurants.


Key utensils and Appliances used: Oven and deep wok


Ingredients: 

  • For white sauce:
    • 2 cups full fat milk
    • 2 tbsp salted/unsalted butter. Home made makhan.
    • 1 tbsp all purpose flour (Maida)
    • 0.5 cups regular processed cheese
    • Sugar to taste 
    • Namakswadanusar
    • Black pepper powder
  • 1 cup boiled penne pasta
  • 0.5 cup chopped canned pineapple
  • 1 cup Grated mozzarella cheese (I didn't used it)

Method:

  1. Put oven for pre-heating @ 180℃. 
  2. Heat a non stick pan having thick base.
  3. Put butter in it and let it melt.
  4. Sprinkle maida on melted butter and whisk it continuously. 
  5. Cook it on medium heat till it starts leaving sweet buttery fragrance (Do not let it turn brown).
  6. Add milk and keep on whisking it to avoid lump formation. 
  7. Add grated processed cheese and sugar to it.
  8. Stir till it achieves desired saucy consistency. 
  9. Sprinkle black pepper powder and namakswadaunsar.
  10. Mix boiled pasta - pineapple into this sauce and let it cook for 3 minutes.
  11. Put this preparation in a deep baking vessel
  12. Cover the surface with grated mozzarella cheese. 
  13. Cover the vessel with aluminium foil
  14. Bake it covered for 15 minutes
  15. Grill it uncovered for 5 to 10 minutes (Cheese should not turn brown). 
Serving Suggestions: Serve it hot with toasted or grilled bread toast and Tomato soup.
