Paneer Bhurji

Ingredients:


  • 250gm paneer
  • 1 large onion roughly chopped
  • 1 large tomato roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp ready made ginger garlic paste (you can replace them with freshly ground ginger and garlic)
  • 1 Small capsicum chopped (optional)
  • 2 Green chillies 
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 2 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp Red chilly powder
  • 2 tbsp Garam masala
  • Namak Swadanusar
  • ¼ cup Oil/Butter/Ghee
  • Water

Method:

  1. Heat some oil/butter/ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds and wait till they splutter.
  2. Add onions and ginger garlic paste. Saute on medium flame for 4 minutes.
  3. Add capsicum (optional) and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Add tomatoes and saute on high flame till they turn mushy. 
  5. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, garam masala (2tbsp each) and salt to taste. Saute for two more minutes and add half glass of water.
  6. Lower down the flame. Take paneer piece/s in your hand and crumble them coarsely between your palms directly into the pan.
  7.  Mix well and cover. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Taste and add masalas if needed.

Serving suggestions: Enjoy it with bread or pav. Sprinkle some lemon juice before eating.
